Dextromethorphan Polistirex ER is an extended-release cough suppressant used to temporarily relieve persistent or chronic cough.

• Dextromethorphan: acts on the brain to reduce the urge to cough.

• Polistirex: a polymer that slows absorption, allowing the medicine to work up to 12 hours for extended relief.

It does not treat infections; it only reduces cough symptoms.

How to Take:

• Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

• Extended-release capsules or liquid should not be crushed, chewed, or split, as this can release the drug too quickly.

• Can be taken with or without food.

• Do not combine with alcohol or other medicines that cause drowsiness unless approved by a doctor.

• Take at the same times each day to maintain consistent symptom relief.

Dosage:

• Adults and children ≥12 years: Often one extended-release dose every 12 hours as prescribed.
